Dunn Lumber is a family-owned and operated business with deep Seattle roots. Founded in 1907 by Albert Dunn, the Dunn Lumber Company has operated their headquarters and retail lumber store at Latona Avenue NE and NE Northlake Way since 1931. Thousands of Seattle homes have been built with lumber and building materials from Dunn’s.
The company has survived fires, the Great Depression, the Boeing Bust, the Great Recession – and the biggest and continuing threat: industry consolidation by giant chain operators.
With nine stores in the greater Seattle area, operations continue today with fourth and fifth generation family members under the leadership of president, Mike Dunn. The lower Wallingford headquarters location employs more than 100 people. Many of these employees have been with the company for 30 plus years, some more than 45 years.
